THE LIFE AND IMPRESSIONS OF A GLAMBERT (B.A – A.A)

(before Adam and after Adam)

That night in January, 2009, after reaching a tiring day at work or even just enjoying the end of your vacations you were looking for something interesting on television and knew that there will be “American Idol” on tv. You thought you could listen to some different voices, could laugh a little over some performance, or just listen to Simon Cowel detonate that artist “wannabee” with his alleged harsh and ironic criticism… or just get distracted. Or you simply as a fan of the show, would like to follow the auditions, the progress of candidates from week to week to see who could reach the final.

But that day a beautiful boy, incredibly sympathetic and charismatic would change your perception of the world when he sang “Bohemian Rhapsody” from “Queen”. When you first heard that beautiful boy’s voice what were you thinking? In fact, deep in your heart, you might even think that he seemed to be there by mistake… because he had not the slightest ways of a candidate for a talent show, he really seemed to be a celebrated artist, disguised as a competitor, such was his enormous self confidence and how he seemed to challenge the jurors, without ceasing to be humble.

Week after week, this guy won us over with his true talent, charisma, charm and incredible beauty… and he lets us
 speechless! No, you were not prepared. Suddenly, observing those blue surreal eyes, and hear him singing “Satisfaction”… you might say “- Did he look at me!?” and I’m sure – he did! – He looked directly at the door of your heart and was about to open it and get there without your permission.

Whatever was the moment that you got caught or hypnotized by Adam Lambert, you know that after he appeared in your life, you would never be the same. You not only became a fan of his, you definitely fell in love, no matter what’s your sexual preference, what your marital status is, your age, social position or job. Yes, you fell in love.

After watching his presentation of Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love” for the first time, you became totally fascinated, entranced, you didn’t understand how “that guy” could affect you so deeply, and you just wondered: – Adam, what do you want from me? And he would answer you immediately: “I want your body, mind, etc.” [Note 1] – and he was serious about it!

In a world full of hypocrisy and falsehood, in a world full of masks, someone told us that we could be happy without using any of the bullshit and that everything would work for us. And if some people do not accept you just the way you are, then you should ignore them and move on. That your differences makes the difference to the world in a positive way. Someone told us that every single person with a dash of personality and feelings of inadequacy no longer needed to feel strange, because everything is ok if you are different because you are really special in your own way:

“Wanna scream out
No more hiding
Don’t be afraid of what’s inside”
[Note 2]

And to top it off this set of attributes derived from a single person, this beautiful message of positivism that he exudes, there’s still that mouth that seems made of “pink pads”, where anyone would like to rest their own, surrounded by freckles that you could perfectly spend the whole afternoon counting, one by one, feeling that you are a complete idiot or not giving a damn about what people would think about that thought.

And how about the smile? No, I can not describe how I feel when Adam smiles.

Considering all he is, and the fact that he is gay is simply an unimportant detail because he has the “alpha male” thing inside of him and unconsciously (or consciously) causes an irresistible attraction in women and no doubt he can dominate the conscious non opposition.

When you see Adam entertaining us, you can almost feel his perfume and his breath when he is singing. And for the most of us who saw the Glam Nation Tour, even through Youtube, certainly made love with Adam Lambert.

On his other side but at the same time, this person offers you something as the palpable vulnerability and he makes a possible way for you to accept your own sensibilities. For example, when you listen to “Broken Open”, the velvety voice of Adam invites you and holds you (yes, close your eyes and listen to this music, he is really welcoming you with his open arms) when he says:

“Let’s alight in the night
We can fall away, slip out of sight
When you drop your guard
Melt it in time, so it’ll try crying
(
)
Lay here is safe here (
)
(
)
I’m all you need”

Tell me about the guy who has never fallen in love with someone and felt exhausted by all this seduction game, and certainly wish to have a love partner that could say: – - “it’s okay if you let shine all your love, I’ll welcome you in my arms anyway and I will not reject you for that, nor I will find you ridiculous”. Who doesn’t want that?

Or even when you hear “Mad World” in those days when everything goes wrong, people think you’re weird, your attitudes are not understood, nothing goes right, don’t you think this song chills you out? And then you could just look at the stars and then you, Adam and “Mad World”, would make a perfect “menage etoile”. [Note 3]

No, you were not prepared when he came into your life and could spend a whole day talking about Adam, but today, I just want to thank Adam’s parents and the year of 1982, January 29th, and the conjunction of all planets and stars graduated at this very moment, during his birth, because certainly that’s when God decided to create perfection and offered this gift to the humanity.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ADAM MITCHEL LAMBERT!

NOTES:

(1) From the lyrics of “Music Again”
(2) From the lyrics of “Aftermath”
(3) “MenĂĄge a trois” – From the French “household of three”, MĂ©nage Ă  trois is a living arrangement which entails sexual liaisons between each two, or all three concurrently. (Simple sexual activity of three individuals is commonly referred to as a “threesome”.). In this case, Lady Gaga (who wrote the lyrics) and Adam decided to use the expression “ mĂ©nage etoile” in “Fever” – (
) “We’ll never get too far, Just you ‘n’ me and the stars,Silly mĂ©nage a etoile”. So the tree is “you”, Adam and the stars
